I'm a total newb to mafiascum. I have played before on another forum, but it was only 1 game and I was killed N1

I'm looking forward to getting this game started, especially since it seemed to take longer than usual. I'm also hoping we don't have to have too many replacements. I should be able to post a few times a day.

Why not take a risk if you think the person is scum and others aren't seeing your point of view? Sometimes you'll hit this wall because you won't properly be able to express your opinion or the person will just have a lot of people convinced that they're town due to their impeccable posts... or something. Ah good point. I guess it's just hard for me to imagine that because were early in the game and i'm not thinking ahead hypothetically. It would seem to be useful in D2 and onward. Thanks for the honest advice.

It's funny that as soon as easjo682 posts #90, the weight and pressure off the game switches. That was an odd post. I'd like easjo682 to post more content instead of saying "it's too early" to everything.

Then again I haven't posted too much content, i'm just trying to play catch-up.

: Brokenscraps has yet to post anything which doesn't bode well for his chances. Spad seemed like easily the most scummy player to me. IMO until brokenscraps posts some convincing reads/content, it would be a mistake to not make him our first lynch. Feels like the safest lynch to me, but i'm gonna give a bit more time before i put a vote in.

Looking at camn's Iso she was very very aggressive (reasonably so) on Spad, then backed off spontaneously, got defensive when racerman13 attacked her, and then...nothing too much really besides some good reads @ post206

Yeah racerman deserved a claim, but that wasn't the main issue. Main issue is obviously juanpa899 lynching fast. I really would have liked for brokenscraps to give some reads, i really would have liked easjo682 to say anything, but she may be replaced soon.

Johhog's quick wagoning strikes again it appears. If racerman flips scum, though, then Johhog, glowball, and Juanpa899 would appear pretty townie. If not then i guess it depends on the night kill.

I feel like i may have been falling for Johhog's naive honest scum-hunting tone a bit too much, Johhog has changed reads and suspicions so much that him voting racerman13 for the same said reason is...yeah.

I can't say I'm unhappy with racerman's lynch, he was probably around 2nd scummiest in my book.

Well my initial read of easjo was leaning scummy because she was flying under the radar and was mostly defensive except for pressuring Spadille and voting racerman.

So far, hiplop has been null leaning townie, however.

With camn that's mostly from the jumping all over Spadille, then calling him town. Since then nothing bad really.

Personally i've never completely understood the 'too town to be town' or 'too scum to be scum' arguments. That seems like total WIFOM overanalysis to me.

My vote is on juanpa because his player slot has been the most scummy, not because he's kinda sorta scummy but not too scummy to be scum, because scum would never act so scummy unless they knew i don't lynch too scummy in which case they would act too scummy.....etc etc.

Pressure votes, on the other hand, are entirely different and I can understand that.

No-Lynch in this situation is a very very common and not that controversial play.
Any newb that wishes to learn.. please list your opinion for and against. There are accepted arguments both ways. I happen to have heard them all.

Oh I'm all for the no lynch. Sigma is my biggest scum read, but i'd hate for him to flip town and camn/hiplop be the scum team, which I think is very feasable btw.

It narrows down the choices safely. Either take a swing at 40% chance or 50%. Either way if you miss, game over. So go with the better odds. The only issue would be if scum no killed tonight, if they are allowed to on Night 3. Then you could just go for it Day 4. This is basically just a safe way to prolong the game by no daylynching and then figure things out more.

Well tbh your posts Day3 have been very townish, but the reason is I think the scummy/lurky play from easjo is a minor part of it, and back in Day2 you weren't posting too much content and you seemed to be forcing arguments with others. Sigma is basically everyones biggest scum read, so anybody could be his partner at this point. If sigma is scum, I think their partner would have given up any hope of him surviving by now and is in it for themselves. The Camn/Hiplop pair suspicion is more gut motivated from you 2's exchanges.

If we end up losing because the mafia FLAKED and forgot to put in a kill.. then we werent playing Mafia, and it is no real loss.

First off Sigma's slot was hands down your biggest scum read for half of Day 1, (until you called him town out of nowhere) most of Day 2 until you grew inpatient with juanpa889, (understandable) and undeniably in Day 3 until sigma's claim. I don't know what part of gambit you don't understand,

the odds are against this claim working. I don't think Sigma really cared if it failed, he had just replaced in and maybe he wanted to see if it could work just for shits and gigs. Well by my POE fourseen is obviously scum. You two are confirmed town. But if I have to persuade you here goes:

1. Fourseen is suspecting the wrong person. He should be accusing me, not camn. No kills on the 2 nights that the doc healed camn. Hmmmmm..... yeah I'm gonna say camn is confirmed town.

2. Fourseen killing Johhog instead of Hiplop. Makes me think he isn't paying much attention to the game, he should have killed Hiplop the doc because Johhog wasn't technically confirmed town, although he was pretty pro-town. Perhaps fourseen just lynched Johhog because he doesn't like him? There were a number of times that those 2 were arguing and name-calling.

I still think Sigma's claim is bullshit, but after thinking about this weekend I don't think we can take the chance of lynching him today at least is that correct? Perhaps after the massclaim (which we should do) we'd have a better idea of whether or not we can afford to take that risk and lynch sigma.

Well obviously. By my POE those were the only 5 scumteams possible. I'm vanilla townie, so i'm kinda excluded from my own reads.

Anyways I suggest hiplop and camn check out glowball's iso, because now that were in endgame her posts are pretty interesting. She would be getting a lot of heat right now if she were still playing in her slot.

I had no vote day 1 ultimately, but it would have been on brokenscraps, I only took it off so scraps would have a chance to redeem his slot. Day 2... yeah that was a bad choice. I was impatient and didn't want quadruple replacements to stall the game. I put my initial vote on juanpa because of the hammer, and i had no reason to take it off.

Also hiplops the only claimed power role (besides sigmas fakeclaim obv), and there is 1 power role per game, thus hiplop is town.

Johhog was all for Sigma/Fourseen scum team. Killing Johhog wouldn't have made things any easier if I was scum.

If I was scum i would've lynched Hiplop. If I was in fourseen's position i would have killed hiplop. The Johhog lynch doesn't make any sense, it felt random. Or fourseen was just annoyed with Johhog and wanted him out of the game.

I am surprised that this is lasting as long as it is, Fourseen is basically making the same WIFOM arguments over and over. I don't understand that if you guys don't like how i'm playing now, it totally nullifies all the town reads I was getting for the 1st 3 or 4 days. Even fourseen called me obvtown.

I will lay out my reads in two situations:
Most Likely Situation:
Sigma's Claim is Fake and He is Scum
His Most likely partner is either you for mega defending his claim/ believing it or Camm
Hip Flop and Camm As I already said look to me at least they can't both possibly be on the same side. So I'd put hip flop as town. and Camm more likely Scum.

I am a little concerned by the way you and camm are kinda going along with this fake cop claim as if he lives through to tommorow it will complicate things to no end if you are still believing his reports at that point.

Is it not odd that bs2000 stuck it out through the entire game and never replaced out? Or is just coincidence? I highly doubt he would've stuck it out being just a VT. It is very odd as well that when he was asked at the beginning of the game that he would stay low if he was scum that is the way he ended up playing. Bs2000 you admitted that being on the kondo lynch was bad on your part, and not being on the following lynch was even worse. But why did you suspect sigma throughout the entire game, but didn't throw him under the bus until it seemed like there was no other way but to lynch him off?

No no no I said the kondi lynch was impatient, the next day there was no lynch, i was all for that and would have hammered it if no one else did.

Also are you saying that replacing out is pro-town? I like this game I'm gonna stick with it, even if I'm lowly VT. Johhog did the same, and camn is doing the same. As for me laying low, my post count has increased after Day 2 because the game actually became interesting. This is a poor excuse, i'll admit.
