At a town hall meeting, a group of individuals gathers to discuss affairs of a fine city. The meeting goes as such meetings typically go, with many ideas raised, much support behind these ideas, and yet conflicting opinions on how to go about implementing the idea, until ultimately some different topic takes priority, shifting discussion and tabling the prior matter until the next meeting.
Usually, as it happens, the only thing the townsfolk actually end up implementing is the last thing to be discussed, frequently something which wasn't even placed on the initial agenda. Quite often, as a result of an aired grievance, shared by a small vocal portion of the citizenry, a change is made abruptly which affects the whole community and not simply those in attendance.
Such bureaucracy doesn't tend to work well, but it is all they really seem to have and it's better than nothing. "It's not the best system in the world, it's just the
only
system in the world" is the common mindset to these proceedings, and as a whole, people tend to simply accept the results for what they are: imperfect, but leading to significant changes to the community that should theoretically be for the better.
"Now, I know we could use some renovation to the town square, but the gallows there are a city treasure! We simply can't replace them."
"But we don't even
use
them anymore. They're a relic of the past."
"Hmph. If I had
my
way, we'd still be using them! Why, so many of our issues would be solved if we could just get rid of the troublesome individuals in our community the old-fashioned way!"
"If you had
your
way, old geezer, those 'troublesome individuals' would be everyone except for you."
"That's beside the point."
"While I might not go to the extremes of ol' gramps here, I share his sentiment. It's undeniable we have our issues, here, and I think we all know what they are."
"Yeah!"
"We should rid our city of dirty cri--"
"Wolves!"
"...Uh, I was talking ab--"
"YEAH! WOLVES!"
"Why, just the other day, I was taking a walk during the night. I saw a wolf prancing about, and I was so startled that I fell on my back! I broke my tailbone from that fall! If it weren't for those damned wolves, I'd be fine!"
"Would you believe the nerve? I saw some wolf assaulting a group of punks! I swear those sweet innocent kids couldn't have done any harm with what I'm pretty sure were just some utility knives, yet that monster was clearly attacking them!"
"And wouldn't you know it? I saw a wolf holding an old lady as she was walking down a street! That was obviously harassment!"
"That's nothing. I was driving my car down Main Street, cruising at a fine 60 mph, and a wolf out of NOWHERE appeared in front of me! I swear it musta jumped out deliberately, to force me to swerve and wreck my car!"
"Isn't the speed limit on Main Street thirty?"
"What? Everyone does it."
"...No argument there."
"You think that's bad? Well, I tell ya. I had one of my chickens disappear overnight, with nothing but a blood stain remaining. And you know what I found? Tracks, tracks through the chicken coop door! There's no way that could have been anything other than a wolf murdering my poor chicken!"
"I think we can all agree then...
"It is time to...
Lynch the Wolves
."
"...Where do we begin?"

zMuffinMan has been prodded. He has this long to post, or be replaced: (expired on 2018-08-27 18:34:36).
A lynch has been achieved!
mastina will generate a more advanced votecount if she has the capacity to give it. No promises!

"Well, there's an obvious way for us to sort this."
"Oh? How so?"
"The innocent simply state their innocence, so we know who is guilty! By the way, I'm innocent."
"...That is a
brilliant
plan! I'm innocent, too!"
"...I'm pretty sure this is actually a horrible plan."
"Nonsense! It cannot fail. After all, I know I'm innocent as well!"
"So am I, but how do we know
you
are?"
"FINE, I'm innocent. Happy?"
"Yep!"
"You guys are all idiots."
"You got a better plan? Oh and I'm innocent."
"..."
"Then it's settled! Declare your innocence if you are innocent!"
...And soon, the predictably obvious happens, as all declare themselves to be not guilty.
"I was
so sure
that would work!"
"How shocking that it didn't."
"I guess we need a new plan."
"Amazing idea! Let's lynch the people who annoy us!"
"...That doesn't narrow it down."
"How do we solve this, then?"
"How about we just cast votes for who we think is a wolf?"
"...Sure, why not?"
"Sounds good to me!"

"I'm gonna laugh if this actually works out."
"Sounds suspiciously wolf-like to me!"
"I have communed with the tree spirits and they have told me that all is not as it seems."
"Can you shut up about that?"
"If I choose to."
"Well we're off to a
great
start."
"Hey, we've called someone a wolf! That's progress."
"Yeah but we haven't done much with it."
"I honestly don't care that much for this lynch thing, but I love the food you've got here at the meeting."
"Either give something constructive or get out."
"Uh...we're probably wasting our time with this finger pointing?"
"Probably, but that opinion sounds suspicious."
"I think you calling that suspicious is suspicious."
"Have we considered talking out what we can all do?"
"Less chat, more lynching, in my opinion."
"Yeah, let's go do the thing."
"Get a lynch wagon prepared?"
"Sure."
"Why would we need that?"
"...Uh...because I'm pretty sure the person we lynch won't want to go willingly? We need to tie them up and a wagon seems like an efficient method of transportation."

"You know, all things considered, I'd actually say we've gotten a good amount of discussion done for the amount of time we've been here."
"Oh, how do you figure?"
"I reckon we've been at this for less than half an hour. Let's say it takes us twelve to decide who we're going for. We've used only the smallest fraction of time."
"In English, please?"
"You guys talk too much."
"HEY!"
"Well, that's not exactly wrong. Pretty sure some of us haven't gotten the chance to speak up yet because we've kept interrupting them."
"Or maybe they haven't said anything because THEY ARE WOLVES."
"That sounds remarkably plausible."
"You can't see it on my face but this is me being skeptical."
"Why can't we see your face again?"
"...Have you tried actually looking?"
"I think you're trying to hide something, show your face!"
"MY FACE IS RIGHT HERE YOU JUST CAN'T SEE SKEPTICISM ON IT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I AM TOO BUSY FACEPALMING AT STUPIDITY."
"...Oh."
"Hey. Let's not shout. Be happy. We're all going to come out today feeling great, right?"
"Yeah!"
"Yep!"
"That's the plan."
"...I imagine the person we lynch would say otherwise."
"UNLESS WE FIND THAT VOLUNTEER! STILL ASKING!"
"I really don't think that's going to pan out."
"Radical idea: maybe the people who are the strongest proponents for a lynch are themselves the wolves?"
"That sure is a radical idea."
"Then help me!"
"I mean radical in the sense of extreme, not 'cool'."
"Well I think my stance is better than yours."
"I still like the idea of lynching people who annoy us."
"Sure, that works."
"Who annoys us though?"
"Everyone."
"Oh, right, now I remember why we aborted this idea."

"Has anyone been recording what we've been saying?"
"Of course, I decided to do that a long time ago."
"Wow, you seem prepared, this seems like it could come in handy."
"Actually, I was more thinking it'd make a good historical record."
"Yeah, because of how tremendously important this day is!"
"No, more because I wanted proof for future generations of our idiocy."
"Might be worth going over it all the same to see if there's any suspicious activity."
"Define 'suspicious activity'."
"Whatever I don't like."
"Let's use this time a little more productively."
"How can we use it better?"
"Umm...well...think logically? Like, what would a wolf be more likely to do?"
"I know!"
"You do?"
"Yeah! Wolves have good ears and noses, so they are going to try and sniff out who is 'suspicious' and listen closely looking for 'suspicious things'!"
"That's so ridiculous I'm honestly thinking it sounds suspicious."
"SEE?!? WOLF!!!"
"...Is this a joke?"
"...I wish, but I'm pretty sure that's a serious accusation."
"Yep!"
"The logic actually holds merit and I back it up."
"Oh? Do tell."
"Because calling something like that ridiculous honestly stinks."

<<< Front page is now fully up-to-date. (Well, until I generate the fifth votecount pretty soon by the looks of things.) Still need to add the flavor and get the detailed versions; working on those now. >>>
Also done: a small fix to Votecount #4 which had Vecna still counted in Not Voting erroneously.
Additionally, I have apparently been capitalizing MathBlade's username wrong the entire time I've known him as I was using Math
b
lade; this has been remedied, and now displays properly across the whole game.
Still needed:
Links to votecounts 5, 6, and 7
Editing the last votecount from 4 to 7
Flavor for votecounts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
Detailed versions of votecounts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
Establishing the prod meter so that it is functional
Updates on the first page for all of the "extra" content.
Shifting the last votecount from simple to detailed
Most or all of these should be done before the end of the night, but I do need to take a pause to eat, drink, and rest; being up for 12 hours of continuous work takes its toll on you especially when you take a full-powered turn-kick to your pelvic bone. (It still hurts.) >>>

<<< I have a working prod meter that should keep me on top of sending out prods.
Votecount #2, Votecount #3, and Votecount #4 have all been switched to their advanced/detailed form. (With luck, once I have completed the conversion, there will be a bunch of shinies everyone can make use of.) Unfortunately, that is all the time I can afford for the task of converting votecounts tonight. I believe I may have time free tomorrow for continuing the task to completion, but I won't know for certain. >>>
<<< Player Post Number is an extra included which has a few uses. Like in The OP, the links for usernames link to the iso of the player in question.
Additionally, it tracks (player's posts/total posts for the current day phase) as the first two variables, and (player's total posts/total posts for the game) for the second two variables. (On D1, these two variables are identical.)
When I designed this extra, I originally intended it to be listed, most to least, in the number of posts a player has for the current day phase. However, for all the votecounts utilizing this extra, I've currently been listing it with it being in the order of the playerlist. This is where I as a moderator can receive feedback.
For any who would have use of this tool, I ask that they tell me (preferably via PM) which of the following listing methods they would find most helpful:
By the playerlist (what I accidentally have now)
Ordered most to least number of posts for current day phase (what I originally intended)
Ordered most to least number of posts for overall game
Ordered least to most for current day phase
Ordered least to most for overall game
Or some other sorting method I didn't think of.
Whichever option receives the most support within 72 hours will be the option I use for the remainder of the game (including being edited into the prior votecounts). (expired on 2018-06-03 02:37:03).
If I don't receive any feedback, I'll default to what I originally intended. >>>
