We're still chitchatting instead of playing. How does this game get on track?

I think we should all simultaneously selfvote and then each present the soundest possible case for our own lynch.

No, the serious game has started.

What are your thoughts on notscience giving town cred to TSO for speculating on the setup when the setup is publicly available?

reinoe
you are interacting with real people,
real individuals with actual mental lives

you want to be treated fairly, right? with respect?
and you'd rather be a creative, positive force than one that provokes calls for policy lynchings?
so why treat these people as objects for your own amusement

Motivation for second gambit: ???

2) Scum Tree
Gambits IC
Regardless of actual reactions, can either;
a) Use the gambit in and of itself to push self-as-town
b) Use any reactions to garner falsified reads that he can use as a leg to stand on for "scumhunting"
Garners 1 vote and no other negative reactions.

your tenuous theoretical cost-benefit analysis doesn't really demonstrate scumminess at all
it's a possible thinking process that I personally find dubious that tree would go through,

I don't quite understand why it's
this
show of excess that generates a wagon rather than my own or others, except that Majiffy has decided so and there are enough weaker players around to go with it.

I think majiffy's push on tree is fabricated. It makes sense for an RVS-ending vote, but somehow we've made it to page twenty and he still acts relatively confident that tree's pretty bland couple of fakeclaim ploys make him scum. It would be okay if he were just egging it on for tactical reasons, but I just have no doubt reading his posts that he'd be happy if tree died right now.

At this point, I think he continues to tunnel on tree just because 1) it's easier to act through than it is to look soberly at what he's doing and what could be done, and 2) tree is really easy to push and is the sort of player likely to dig his own grave. And I'm asking his sheep about the wagon so I can see if anyone else is following suit, or if the
actual
scum carrying out this really cliched approach to D1 is one of those. It seems pretty likely to me that the tree wagon is just too shitty not to be astroturfed.

I know I'm fooling around a lot, but it's because I can, because it's harmless. But I didn't join the game for the captive audience.

Faulty premises. The fakeclaim ploys aren't the scumread, the play after is.

Because they're fucking idiots that think the large argument that ensued regarding scum motivation in gambits was the scumread.

Probably because
eyesglazeover
.

That doesn't make my argument any bit weaker. It just means we have a lot of incompetent players.[/quote]

two things

- If you think the town is so dumb, why don't you put any effort into explaining the substance of your posts? Every single time someone has asked you for clarification, you've avoided doing so by either calling them stupid or saying something stupid. How the hell could you be so deliberately obscure about your reasons for a lynch and at same time be interested in making that lynch happen?

- You ALWAYS do this. You always put the burden for comprehending your incoherence on other players. How many people will it take for you to realize that the problem is you?

A four person neighborhood in a large game with multiple neighborhoods? One of those neighborhoods might be all town.

I'd advise against thinking "there has to be scum there" because it might just lead to a chain of mislynches that isn't worth it in the end, whether there's scum in the neighborhood or not.

I typically see that from newbscum. Where you mention a player you don't like but vote the other and the person you have more issue with is your scum buddy.

I mentioned Tree because I had just finished reading 10 pages about Tree. I stated how I felt about the big wagon of the day, that I didn't understand or like the double claim, but didn't see it as particularly scummy. I then voted Aero, who I do find scummy, based on his interactions with Elyse, as I thought I had clearly stated.

Your voting based on some crap rule about mentioning one player and voting another is just that, crap.

VOTE: texcat

Nonsensical and unexplained vote on Aeronaut; paralipsis of "quite a bit of conversation," none of which is described or analyzed; cockamamie theory in 627 that is used to cast suspicion of gameplay but goes nowhere.

It wasnt, and it does.

I wont be moving off tree unless absolutely necessary.
Im seeing strong pushback with moonlogic from psyche and aero that look like buddies helping a strong scum pr out of the depths
, strengthened by trees lurking the wagon away and inability to answer for anything.

You really should hop on.

How can you possibly justify that statement?

i don't quite understand our plan for confirming the role
if aero survives tomorrow - which scum have good reason to permit if they can roleblock him or he is scum -
then what?

i agree that it's important for oka to try to engage more with what's going on besides just repeatedly egging on a lynch in uninspired ways
and that reliance on this sort of lynch pushing to simulate actual contribution to the game is a great and even common strategy
but ive mislynched aegor before for doing something like this, and i need reason to think that oka won't go the same way

so i'm going to promise to vote oka by the end of tomorrow if he doesn't give us a substantial overview of his understanding of the game and its players asap

In post 2063, shaddowez wrote:Your initial question was if he was lying, which I answered. As for your new point, that depends on two factors, neither of which I'm really comfortable with.

1) What type of investigative role we have, and how badly he's lying. If he's a Godfather or an SK, a regular cop may not help. If he's fakeclaiming and have an actual town gunsmith, it won't help if he's a Mafia Doctor (or possibly an SK, not sure about that). If we have a role cop, still won't help to know if he's town or scum.

These things are possible and that's a good reason to feel okay lynching him eventually if no one comes out and either confirms or condemns him, but not on D1. There is a good chance that we do have roles that can test his claim, especially if he is scum, and for that reason — and because town-aero surviving turns him into a virtual lightningrod for scum and possible free info for us — it's a good idea to let him survive. For like a Day.

2) Whatever investigative role we do have will have to out themselves on D2 in order to clear one person. If we have a doctor we can try playing Follow the Cop, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if scum has a RB if we have an investigative role
and
a doctor.

Optimal play
is
to out oneself to nail confirmed scum.

This is the same case I heard earlier in the game. You can scroll through my iso to see my rebuttal. Everything new about your case just comes from missing the context or air with which I said something. It's really that simple.

His first votes. Too much jumping there and here. The worst part is that he himself states those are not rvs votes.

Their point was to get the ball rolling. Being unserious about them doesn't do that.

In post 172, Psyche wrote:We're still chitchatting instead of playing. How does this game get on track?

I think we should all simultaneously selfvote and then each present the soundest possible case for our own lynch.

In post 176, Psyche wrote:I'll go first!

vote Psyche

The case: none of my posts are more than three lines what is up with that

He admits it and does nothing about it.

There is no problem with "it".

In post 189, Psyche wrote:i will now
vote reinoe
for not being a team player

A shitty vote - exuse to look useful by placing an empty vote.

Did it look useful???

In post 1117, Psyche wrote:
vote aeronaut

The main thing here - go to Psyche's iso, press Ctr F and then write Aeronaut ( Aero). Never mentions him once until that vote.

So?

It is really hard to iso Psyche tho. A lot of his posts are either really confusing, empty, shitty or just unhelpful. Imo Psyche is being the lazy scum now.

Sure, and a lot of my posts aren't any of those things. Welcome to Psyche.

the case on texcat is simply not compelling, and how oka said "then I will claim" just came off as really disingenuous
