Something_Smart: Gun to head, scum. I like the style and the more conservative thinking behind his posts. There’s nothing particularly townie I see, and it all seems pretty neutral. I understand that from this kind of perspective, you don’t really propagate your thoughts, but some more thoughts of your own would be nice.

I don't like how you have significantly downplayed my reasoning for scumreading him, nor am I sure of what "pretending everyone is following him via shouting" means.
He's trying to take town under his reigns with the power of his voice and not his willpower or intention to help the town. His push for receiving the hider invention is disgusting too. It's scummy, I don't know what else to say that RC hasn't because I don't want to repeat the same thing and appear to be taking credit. His defense of RECK was unfounded at the time, and I agree that it has high potential to be an attempt to pocket. And lastly, even if he is town, if he continues like he has he won't be a huge loss to town as compared to other town.
I see RECK votes being led by mastina and I'll get to that once I'm back from school.

To my memory, Yoshi is the type of player who as town makes posts which are...
...Well, like this--mixed bags. On the one hand, you get many indicators of potentially being town (because that's what he is)...and on the other, you also get (often in the very same post as the townposting) things which look ridiculously scummy-as-fuck. In short, Yoshi is the player who as town is not earlygame mislynch bait but is
midgame
mislynch bait, even endgame mislynch bait: someone who looks just town enough to not be mislynched early-on, but who has enough cumulative scummy things to (1) never be nightkilled, and (2) eventually eat a mislynch when the town runs out of ideas on who to lynch.

And that's basically what I'm seeing. I'm seeing the ambivalence of half-great, half-terrible (the good half is the strenuous task to sort because that reads as ridiculously genuine as fuck; the terrible half is the justification in having done so, to get stuff out to not appear as a lurker), with the great half being more dominant overall.

That's more or less what I'd expect to see from him as town, although this is with the caveat that my game experience with him is somewhat-limited (I think I can count encounters with him on one hand?) so that's a read I'll definitely be asking for second/third/etc. opinions on when I actually get the chance to ask for opinions on reads. (Which I won't get until I'm actually fucking caught up and producing over ten new pages a day when the average amount of new pages per day I read is 10-20 and thus new pages are being produced at least as fast if not faster than I can read them is a good way to make sure that doesn't fucking happen.)

Basically, I think he's definitely more likely to be town here, much moreso than my initial feeling, but he's still among my weaker townreads because I lack confirmation of my take being accurate more or less.

Wow. I personally feel this is accurate, how you were able to articulate on this so accurately, better than I ever could, despite having little experience with me (just Biochemistry I think) is amazing.

Anyways, to continue, I think mastina has shown through her posts that she's coming from a genuine town thought process. My RECK read was really just a feel (a considerably strong one) of the gamestate and how he's interacted, and I'm quite convinced that I need to reconsider. The articulation such as that in 869 is incredibly coherent and I can follow it every step of the way.

You literally said it's him trying to control but this is what chesskid has always done and apparently still continues to do. He's always loud and obnoxious. I'm not downplaying anything, it's just a summary. Everyone's writing unnecessary paragraphs in this game. I'm keeping it short and sweet because there's too much noise as is.

You're still downplaying it. It might be a summary but at the same time it's undermining the credibility of the read and I feel like that was intentional. It's not just because he's loud and obnoxious and controlling.

I still can't get over this. First of all, this seems like quite the over-explanation. Second, your main reason for scumreading me is gut. That's all you got? Are you having troubles finding and explaining your own reads? Like, I can't quite articulate what disturbs me about this and I need to sleep. Many of my reads start off as gut reads, but leaving it at that instead of explaining does no good. What did LLD say? I can't tell if LLD literally just said "BigYoshiFan" and that's it or if she actually scumread me for something, because I feel like if it was the latter you would use it.

But I've been thinking... what are the new tendencies for Team Mafia games? For scum, they refer to their teammates as justification rather than their own reads, and I think you said that. Although, I suppose they could just use the read without referencing their team, but still. CheekyTeeky's last post with the mastina voted pinged me for this reason too.

My main point in the post that started all of this was that having reads from buddies in lieu of reads yourself is more likely to come from scum in these games. Not necessarily that relaying reads from buddies is a scumtell.

Hindu made no attempt to make any reads nor push whom he was essentially told to scumread. His push on me was awful. He seems more occupied with being on everyone's good side rather than advancing the gamestate. His exit is true whether he is town or not. Your push on me was horrible (pings with Hinduragi's). It was never felt genuine to begin with, and if so, only after you found you couldn't fake a scumread on me, you stopped pursuing me. Aside from that, if I recall, you don't have many original reads with reasoning of your own. Your progression on mastina made no sense, like you were just going with the flow, same with GL. At the same time you did a 180 on me, you did so on mastina too. That didn't sit quite well with me, and if I read some context I might be able to pursue that further. I don't buy you townread Hinduragi just based on his exit, and if I recall, you scumread him earlier (or at least voted him). I don't see anything to townread you for, and much to scumread you for.

Anyways, I played a game with mastina. She took the same approach to catching up when she replaced in (as town), but she stopped about a quarter of the way. Why is it different here?
Singer summed up the potential benefits for a scumMastina pretty well. Mastina's catchup is obnoxious and irrelevant. I also really doubt mastina is completely neglecting what is currently happening while she makes catch-up posts, so let's force her to acknowledge the present.

But I'd still highly prefer Hinduragi. Mastina will never catch up or provide anything relevant at this point.

I don't see why it isn't likely mastina was bussed, I would argue that it was likely. Mastina clearly had no intent of defending herself and the game just stagnated for a period of time, which suggests to me that even scum were content with the lynch. And if you do think it is unlikely mastina was bussed, why wouldn't you look on her wagon for invention candidates? You're basically saying scum did not vote for mastina, and I believe the people you've listed did not vote for mastina. Anyways, I'm not gonna be coy about this. Give it to someone we townread.

And I guess there's debate over whether we want to lynch the vengeful-target tomorrow. Someone had the alternative of giving the vengeful to someone we found scummy, AND lynch them today as to avoid the possibility of two town players dying, but RC is clearly scum.
