They were standing around the corpse of one of their friends. “Look, I know some of you may not have been pleased with the role you got in your game of Mafia, but murdering the moderator is not an okay solution.” The cop paced around for a bit. Suddenly, he got an idea. “You know, because you like Mafia so much, why don’t you play some here to find out who did this? A friend of mine knows how to moderate a game, so you won’t have to look for another one.”

A phone call and thirty minutes later, someone walked into the questioning room.
“Welcome ladies and gentlemen, I’m your moderator, CityElectric. Now, let us find who killed the mod,” she said, while sitting down. The thirteen looked confused at each other. “Come on, go on. We have all day. You know the rules. You know how to play. Have fun.”

More on Voting and Lynching

1. Voting for a no-lynch should follow the same format as if you were voting for a player.
2. Unvotes are nice, but not needed.
3. A lynch occurs when there is a majority. A majority occurs when half + 1 (rounded down) of the current living players are voting for the same person.
4. If a majority is not reached before deadline, there will be no lynch.
5. After the hammer vote is cast, the game will go into twilight. All living players are still allowed to discuss the game, however, any votes/unvotes will not be counted anymore.
6. The lynchee will be considered dead for game purposes after the lynch scene is posted.
7. Once you are dead, you stay dead, so no more posting in thread.

Deadlines and Prods

2. The Night-phases will take 3 days from when the thread is locked for the Night.

Discussion was heated, that first day. Accusations flew around, until someone said: ‘goodmorning owns a lot of guns, doesn’t he? I mean, the mod was shot, right?’ There were soft voices that most of them owned guns. However, the vocal ones, who incidentally wanted to go home and go to bed, decided that it must have been goodmorning who shot the mod, so they lynched him. Goodmorning looked at his buddies, somewhat dissappointed in their lack of trust, but didn’t say anything when he left the room with a police officer.

During a house search, the police found a hidden gun behind the television. After they checked the ballistic markings, they concluded that that was the murder weapon. Faced with this evidence, goodmorning confessed. ‘Alright, I did it. That mod was a cheat, and he deserved it. There were two others who helped me. I’m not going to tell you who they are.’

The twelve people in the room were waiting to be told whether they could go home for the night. After two hours, CityElectric entered the room. ‘I’ve got good news and bad news,’ she said. ‘The good news is that goodmorning was one of our scum.’ The people in the room let out a relieved sigh. ‘The bad news is that she said there are two more of her sort around here. So, I want you all back here tomorrow. Good night.”

‘Don’t you own a huge, sharp kitchen knife? That should do the trick.’ So, they fetched the kitchen knife, decided on their target, and went on their way.

After they entered, they saw Panzerjager sitting in a chair, dozing off.
‘What the fuck is he doing here?’ one of them whispered to the other.
‘I don’t know, dude.’
‘What are we going to do?’
‘Try to sneak past him. He’s not tonight’s target.’ Panzerjager suddenly opened his eyes. As he saw the two in the house, holding the knife, he screamed: ‘So it’s you! You were the ones who killed our friend!’
‘Nevermind, he is our target now.’ One of them drew the knife, and stabbed Panzerjager three times. They quickly sneaked out, before they could be seen by the two people who came down the stairs. When they saw Panzerjager, lying in a puddle of his own blood, they screamed and called the police.

Fast forward to that morning, 9 AM. Only eleven people entered the room, where CityElectric was already sitting.
‘Panzerjager was murdered tonight. Stabbed three times with a knife.’ She sighed. ‘This case is getting more complicated than we foresaw. Either way, there are still two killers around here. Your job to find them. Carry on.’

‘Yes?’ CityElectric asked.
‘I have to go to the toilet...’
‘Well, then go.’ She ordered a police officer to escort the person to the toilet. Over the course of the day, more people left the room, with more outrageous excuses every time.
‘My 93-year-old grandmother is in hospital and she expects a visit.’
‘I just got a text from my father; he’s all out of food and can’t leave the house.’
‘I need to go iron my dog.’ When it was 11PM, CityElectric was fed up with it.
‘Oh, for fuck’s sake. You’ll all stay in here until you decide on who you want to lynch today.’ After some quick discussion, they decided on serrapaladin. And after an even quicker investigation and interrogation, they came to the conclusion that serrapaladin had been at home with his girlfriend all night, so that he couldn’t have done it.

‘Well done, you guys, serrapaladin is innocent. Now go home, and make sure to do your important stuff tonight before 9AM,’ CityElectric said, while entering the room. The ten people who were left remained seated, with a shocked expression on their face. ‘You’ve been coming up with terrible excuses all day to leave and now that I tell you to leave, you stay here? Go. Home. Now.’

‘Ha, they’re never going to find out it was us!’ one of the figures in a shady alley said. ‘How long until we just eliminate them all?’
‘Three days, if none of us gets eliminated. And we’re able to get rid of one each night. Do you have the knife?’ The other nodded and drew the knife from his backpack with a conspicuous slicing sound. ‘I didn’t know knifes really made sounds like that?’

Once they arrived at their victim’s house, they made a round around the house, checking if there wasn’t someone else in the house that they didn’t came for like last night.
‘Clear,’ the one without the knife said. They picked the lock, and entered the house. Their victim was sleeping peacefully.
‘No need to wake him.’ With those words, the one with the knife stabbed Klick several times in the stomach and between the ribs. While they left the house, one of them remarked that it was a bit of a messy affair, that killing with a knife.

That morning, only nine people entered the questioning room. No one was really surprised to see that their group had lost a member. When CityElectric mentioned that Klick had died that night, everyone got a bit of a sad look on their face, but also determination. They had to catch the ones behind this.

Day three came and everyone was ready and all fired up to take out some scum. Except for one person, who continuously zoned out and didn’t really have her head with what was going on: CityElectric. At 6 PM, she was woken up from being half-asleep by some of the players.
‘Hey, wake up, we’ve lynched someone.’
‘Euhm, yeah, who?’ All the players pointed to Docteur Gudsight. CityElectric nodded and called the cops over, who took Docteur Gudsight with them. ‘You know the deal, you stay here until investigation is done. Who knows, you may get to get home early.’

And indeed, investigation turned out to be short again. They had been at home, watching cat videos on YouTube and commenting on them. The timestamps of those comments pointed at the fact that there was no way Docteur Gudsight could have been outside and murder people at night, so they let them go.

‘Well done,’ CityElectric said when she returned, sarcastic, ‘you’ve got another innocent person. We’ll never find the culprits like this. Tomorrow, 9AM, you know the deal.”

“Get another pot of coffee...” CityElectric sighed, as she almost fell asleep in her chair again. It was 11AM and the group had already finished three pots. Everyone seemed to be dozing off on this fourth day. Not surprisingly, considering everything that had happened, but CityElectric knew it could be fatal to the investigation. She wasn’t the only one.
“Alright, everyone,” one of the group took control. “We have to do something, or the bad guys will get away with this.” The group mumbled something that sounded like ‘yeah’, had some quick discussion, and decided on Human Destroyer, who was quickly taken away and submitted to questioning.

“I’m not sure why the higher-ups thought this was a good idea,” CityElectric said, as she returned, “because you have the wrong guy again.” She went with her hands through her hair. “Now, go home and have some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a big day. You should be able to tell why.”

“Look what I’ve got,” a familiar shady figure in a by now familiar dark alley said, while pulling out a gun. “Should be a lot faster and less messy than that knife of yours.”
“Where did you get that?” the other asked.
“We’ve been done early a lot of times... Had some time to visit a friend of mine and borrow this from him. So, who’s the target tonight?”

Some quick discussion and a short trip to the house of the target later, they found themselves picking the lock again. “You get good at this kind of thing after you’ve done it a few times...” one of them remarked. The other nodded and opened the door. There they found KX, baseball bat in his hands, ready to attack them. With a quick, swift action, one of them pulled the trigger and KX dropped to the ground, dead.
“Shouldn’t have brought a baseball bat to a gunfight,” the one without the gun joked, as they left the house.

“The numbers are steadily dwindling,” CityElectric said, as she entered the room for the 5th day of the investigation. “You know what you should do. And don’t screw up this time.”

But whereas the other investigations had been swift and quickly over and done with, this one seemed to be taking a while. When someone came to check on the people left in the room, they asked whether they could go. The cop who had entered shrugged and told them it was okay, but they had to be back by 8 PM.

Once outside, borkjerfkin and JacobSavage met in the usual shady alley.
“Okay, we can kick them all out now,” one of them said, “but they’ll catch us anyway then.”
“Then there’s only one thing we can do,” the other said. “Kill the other two and get the fuck out of here.” And so they did. They tracked down their former friends, Jennifer and ArcAngel9, and shot them. Next they took their car and drove off, never to return to the town again.

When CityElectric was told about the two corpses they found, she was furious. “I knew this was a bad idea all along,” she said to the cop who initially found the dead mod. She slipped him a piece of paper. “Here are the names of the two that aren’t dead or investigated. I believe they’re the ones behind this. Track them down and...” She paused. “Ah well, you know the deal.” But as she said it, she knew there was no chance of them ever being caught. As there were no roles with a submittable night action other than scum, I don't really have any night actions to share with you guys. This QT contains the role distribution as well as the night actions up until Night 3. Goodmorning has shared the Dead QT already in Post 1558.

Game commentary: First of all, this was a wonderful game to mod and spectate on. You guys were super fun to watch playing. After Day 1, with the goodmorning lynch, I pretty much thought town had this game in their pockets. Both Jacob and bork were still sunder suspicion, and town was off to a good start, with one scum down on the first day. However, things turned out differently. Especially bork managed to completely turn the game around, shaking off most of his suspicion on his slot, and for some reason, Jacob never got lynched. I guess this goes to show again that day 1 is waaay too early to make predictions on games and how they'll go down.

As for future modding, I don't really have any plans. Modding this game was incredibly stressful at times, yet also a lot of fun. I'm probably going to mod a newbie and maybe take some opens/semi-opens to the Micro queue. So keep an eye on those queues if you want to play in a future game of mine!
