Because I'd lost my cool and started to question a number of my reads. Hectic turning out Towny and the missteps surrounding nearly lynching him got me way off-balance. Eddie suggested I take a break from the game and I thought it was a good idea. I'm fresh and ready to catch up with a clear head.

My team has been keeping up to various degrees. Kuribo in particular wrote a page and a half, but I skimmed over it because I don't want it to influence me too much until I read myself. Then I'll try to summarize kuribo, mastina, and xtoxm's thoughts.

Last I checked, Pops was Town and Krazy was scum, so I'm on board for 50% of that.

I'm setting aside a couple of hours after dinner (cooking now) so we'll see after that.

He carried pops TR and Krazy SR into the end of the day.

So we have a few things here.

1) Pine was a claimed neighbor. They weren’t dochunting which they ostensibly should be.

2) Krazy/NaCl/bob/Nancy/pisskop had reason to threatkill Pine, in descending order of level of threat. After bob it drops off a lot as he warmed up to Nancy later.

I think this NK almost certainly gives us at least one scum in {Krazy/NaCl/bob}.

Though his SR of bob was weaker, I find this the most likely person to NK Pine because he was neighbor and had an avenue to get a better read on bob. Perhaps things were going downhill in the hood.

Also, bob has personally NK me for having an accurate scumread on him when I thought it was bananas for gamestate, just like this scum kill. In that game, the living players ignored NKA mostly, which is what he was banking on, as it has fallen out of favor.

If it’s not bob, it’s Krazy slot IMO, as if Krazy was a mislynch, why would they kill his most vocal detractor after Eddie? OVER Eddie, who is conftown?

I’m really disappointed we won’t get to hear Mastina’s Krazy read because she has a much better BoP on Krazy than do tw/Ank and she was also in AvP I think?

Well Auro was shocked at my Piss solve and would Pops really go out of her way to make them look like buddies by jumping on NaCl? Also bob’s post wanting to mislynch me based off of post count and not seeming to care what my alignment is definitely pinging. He also never even gave a single reason for sr me, just that I need to die today and stop breathing or words to that effect. Since I wasn’t even sr him before that, he must see me as some kind of threat otherwise, which could possibly point to unwink/Krazy? because he’s also pushing Piss as well.

@Nancy: I’d feel dirty killing that slot today after the emotional replace out, but I’m not really inclined to delay progressing a 100page game for unwind when he doesn’t believe in catch up reading. What are we waiting for, in that instance? It would be easier to get him into the game with a flip or two he can actually discuss.

I just think in a couple of days, we’ll have a much better read on him. Like I’m legit torn, if Krazy was town. I will feel like shit if we mislynch him but if he flips scum. I’m going to be pissed. we allowed him to manipulate us like that. So if we wait two days, we can actually get a clue to his alignment.

The only slots I can see voting rn are Pine/Pops but I would hate to miss out on his Mastina read, should he provide it. I’m null on Pops but if I can’t convince you guys to wait a couple of days to sort unwind, I dunno. :/

It could be. I’m not really familiar with any of these players. That’s why Krazy slot was on my list (not the meta, but the Pine read itself). There is really obvious equity for Krazy slot in NK Pine if they were afraid of a doc on Eddie.

I looked back on Bob, I feel better about him being town.

The reason for that is it I thought Pine was a really likely lynch for today, it seemed like plenty of people were suspecting him. So in that case, why would a scumteam with Bob go kill him instead?
1. They think Bob would be lynched and they're trying to kill Pine beforehand to not create an IC.
2. They think Pine was the Phone Operator and wanted to kill him for that reason.

A scumteam with Bob would know that Pine wasn't the doc and couldn't target him for that reason.
I don't think reason 1 is really plausible. Most people were townreading Bob and scumreading Pine and I didn't see a situation where that would turn around and result in a Bob lynch beforehand, at least on this day.
Reason 2 is possible but I don't see any evidence that would point to that. I think it's far more likely with what S_S said, they were trying to kill the doc or they were misinterpreting his towniness. Which points away from Bob.

Also, Oka is town now.

I could actually see that but I don’t really have enough experience with Pine to assume whether he’d try to pull that kind of gambit or not. So this leads back to unwind/Krazy if NaCl is right because Pine was gunning for that slot and primarily Mastina read. If I were scum!unwind/Krazy I’d be really scared of a Mastina read. There is also the possibility of a Hectic frame, since he was the only vote on Pine. Bob is dead wrong on me but I actually like the quality of his posting today when compared with the robot like posts, he’s made before this.

But to answer your question, I am definitely okay with voting either unwind or Piss. I was just as obvtown in House Party and Piss wasn’t quite as quick to locktown me in that. I’m really good at seeing through scum pushes but have more difficult seeing through pockets. Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between a genuine townread and a pocket and probably the scumteam’s strategy was to hard pocket me.

Thr benefit is if you know the parties involved and I for example, am well-acquainted with Eddie’s team - I can tell by what he says about their reads, the mindset their coming from and whether or not, their reads are believable to be coming from a townie mindset - as in helping town!Eddie solve the game or not. I believe those reads are legit and I don’t believe he didn’t reveal his role to them. Not saying it’s impossible for him to play that way, since he’s experienced enough to make it believable but I doubt it. I really don’t understand why anyone doesn’t think their team could be helpful to them as scum, if they knew their teammate was scum.

My concern is the way the wagon flips. We know Pine and Amrun are town. Most of the non-participants in the top two wagons are town. I also know I'm town. The Pine death was unlikely a doc hunt given his early replies.

Here's two reasons why I disagree.

Scum are unlikely to bus early in RVS, as the attention to the slot is bad in a game like this. Second, most everyone was against outing the hoods. Putting pressure on Elsa indirectly supports my idea.

Here's two reasons why I disagree.

Scum are unlikely to bus early in RVS, as the attention to the slot is bad in a game like this. Second, most everyone was against outing the hoods. Putting pressure on Elsa indirectly supports my idea.

Okay, so pops vs Eddie, I don't think outing the neighborhood makes Eddie scum. Like, I get that Eddie can do it if he's careless scum but pops' argument doesn't make sense since he can also do it if he's annoyed town and I don't see why pops is reading into it in that way. It feels forced.
I initially liked pops for her earlier play because it didn't feel like it was scum-her and I think I actually know how she is as scum, unlike most people here. But the vote on Eddie feels like a reach.

I looked back on Bob, I feel better about him being town.

The reason for that is it I thought Pine was a really likely lynch for today, it seemed like plenty of people were suspecting him. So in that case, why would a scumteam with Bob go kill him instead?
1. They think Bob would be lynched and they're trying to kill Pine beforehand to not create an IC.
2. They think Pine was the Phone Operator and wanted to kill him for that reason.

A scumteam with Bob would know that Pine wasn't the doc and couldn't target him for that reason.
I don't think reason 1 is really plausible. Most people were townreading Bob and scumreading Pine and I didn't see a situation where that would turn around and result in a Bob lynch beforehand, at least on this day.
Reason 2 is possible but I don't see any evidence that would point to that. I think it's far more likely with what S_S said, they were trying to kill the doc or they were misinterpreting his towniness. Which points away from Bob.

Also, Oka is town now.

This was pines wagon from yesterday. Can everyone on it explain there pine read from day one. and how it progressed though out that day?

I think it’s fairly clear in the thread. I had a mild TR on Pine early on, but I really disliked his push on Hectic and found the way he went about it scummy. However, I strongly preferred pops wagon and tried (and succeeded) to make that happen instead. After the pops flip, I was fully on board with Pine as a partner and planned to come in here today and case him if I was alive. Very, very confused by this nightkill.

I mean, yeah. Pine was getting a ton of shit for a good while and even the votes reflected that. He was the leading wagon up until Krazy/Eddie outburst. I don't think Pine death was a fearkill or any sort like that, rather it was just meant to put a wrench in things. Maybe I'm looking too much into it but I think the best mix is like, maybe one on the pops wagon? and then the second scummer who didn't want anything to do with it.

I see that's a minor point as pisskop and pops were voting together on the same wagon. It's not exclusionary for two reasons. First, NaCl was a lurker at the time providing no value. Bussing him is a much more advantageous scenario than bussing Pops and a town NaCl is a huge boon to scum pisskop. So it weakens an NaCl pisskop pops solve but doesn't eliminate it.

I don't believe a frame job on pisskop. Rather, it looks more like scum resigning pops wasn't saveable.

My goal is to lynch scum, not perfection. That's why I don't defend players beyond what I directly clear unless asked or necessary most of the time. Rarely does it change minds and it stops people from reaching conclusions organically.

Also, there's a difference between not trusting my reads and being outright hostile to me, since Day 1.

No one really accepts my read on you, but they aren't hostile or oppositional. They'd accept my vote on their SR as town, even if they knew I was wrong elsewhere.

Civilization mafia, since you like that meta. Check that out. I have no problem disagreeing with Math's reads if I get to read the slot. Your attitude, perhaps due to my own baggage, makes it hard to do that. Civilization mafia was so bad I advocated to self lynch and then subbed out to deal with the dissonance.

Why were you taking a break from this game?

Because I'd lost my cool and started to question a number of my reads. Hectic turning out Towny and the missteps surrounding nearly lynching him got me way off-balance. Eddie suggested I take a break from the game and I thought it was a good idea. I'm fresh and ready to catch up with a clear head.

My team has been keeping up to various degrees. Kuribo in particular wrote a page and a half, but I skimmed over it because I don't want it to influence me too much until I read myself.

Then I'll try to summarize kuribo, mastina, and xtoxm's thoughts.

Could this possibly be why? @Amrun. Mastina has a much better BoP on Krazy/unwind slot, so I could also see that as a possible reason if unwind is scum here. What only gives me pause is Krazy saying Eddie owed him a “massive apology” but I only have experience with lurk/coast/hide scum!Krazy not AvP scum!Krazy.

It could be. I’m not really familiar with any of these players. That’s why Krazy slot was on my list (not the meta, but the Pine read itself). There is really obvious equity for Krazy slot in NK Pine if they were afraid of a doc on Eddie.

plus I could definitely see the motive in the Pine kill, because Mastina could give an accurate read on that slot.

By now, you know how my VCA works. This is also a misrep of it. My VCA factors in years of experience that's not reliance on site meta that's old. It factors in all of it.

VCA is about analyzing the forest (reaction to events), not getting lost in the trees (individual posts).
