Oh, and I forgot to add, shotty: taco's approach that he doesn't want to vote somebody without wanting to lynch him is actually the good attitude, not in RVS, though. Nevertheless, it's a newbie, and newbies tend to underestimate the differences between lynches, votes and random votes. Think about players who threaten others with voting them, although they explicitely state that they have no intention to lynch.

TSO brought it up, Dessew agreed with his point (#107), and no one else said anything to imply they thought counter-claiming now would be risky. If no one is disagreeing, I take that to mean that they agreed.

Um...not sure what your asking, but if you mean literally, the deadline is the amount of time we have left until we forfeit a lynch and we proceed into the Night phase.

Some of the alternate characters would be strong characters I wouldn't want to lose in a night kill this early on just to find out that Taco claimed something to save him/erself. Taco could even live through it and someone else would be night killed.

I was asking if the lynch was Dec 10th or in 4 days.

Taco you need to just start posting your thoughts. It's legit that you don't want to screw up but if you aren't posting anything it's not helping the villagers work things out together.

I appreciate your post and I'm here in a newb game trying to figure out the best strategy for posting in a mafia game. I know rl mafia but this online fine tooth combing is hard because I have a tendency to go by intuition and have a hard time explaining why I think someone seems scummy.

Taco seems most scummy to me because although the newbness sounds like a real newb the claiming of one of the strongest town specials seemed weird, especially with the time left in the day and the number of people who were voting. After claiming he also said he knew he would be killed that night because of his claim. Why make the claim?? And then interestingly TSO put in huge letters that other specials should claim to prove taco as scummy but I think that would just put other specials in the line of fire. Also TSO said there is a 50% chance Taco wouldn't be NKed. Why wouldn't mafia NK someone who claimed tracker when there is only 50% chance that there is a dr. in the game? At this point I feel like it's 60:40 Tracker:Scum for Taco.

I had two posts right when I first joined trying to comment on the people already playing. I time warped the thread twice and posted my thoughts and opinions. I've been posting plenty of opinions, one of which you said you even agreed with. That actually was one of the things that made me question you. It's always nice for a mafia to have a town bonding moment. Of course I'm right on whatever it is you said that you agreed with (no I don't remember what right now) but you still pinged me with that. I'm scummy but I've been trying to post as many thoughts and opinions as possible just to get them out there and try to get the thread moving. It's interesting that you see me as scummy when I've been very straight forward and am trying to hunt but don't have much to work with.

It's also pretty hard to stay engaged.

I played one other game online on another forum and was pinged as mafia from the start. Ended up 2 town to 1 mafia and I was the poor newb town dragged along because people wouldn't believe I was just being a newb. I see why now.

I actually agree meta google searching really seems outside the realm of a game but changing the username seems really weird. (I saw the name before he changed it) Maybe he wants to look less like he knows what he's doing than he does. Doesn't make him scum but it's really weird.

Oh man it's the day that doesn't end. It just goes on and on my friends (and mafia.) Some people started playing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue playing it forever just because this is the day that doesn't end..

This attacking taco is ridiculous because there is no counter claim so although there could be a real tracker out there or one of the other options that would disprove no one has spoken up so it is ridiculous to talk about lynching Taco.

Of course if taco is the tracker he will probably be killed during the night so it really doesn't matter either way (unless they decide to take a chance of leaving him alive for us to mis-kill?) If he's still alive tomorrow we can attack like mad but today it's just ridiculous to try to get rid of taco. (unless taco and you are both mafia and you are trying to distance. If that is happening please let us know )

I'm still ok with rach because she is so utr and hasn't posted much about the game. The Wazza "played with her before" argument might work if we all knew each other but at this point we don't have that going for us so it seems like a stand like that isn't arguable. Also of all the people who are put under the gun (even the tracker crazy claim) was better than rach's response.

@Taco: I appreciate your frustration at the same exact thing being brought up repeatedly over the course of the entire game, but try and dial it back a bit. If you need to channel your frustration, try and do it by making a case on someone. Even if you're feeling provoked, reacting like that will not only look bad, it'll make the game less fun for all involved.

Also, (if you aren't mafia) the mafia want you to look bad so getting overly frustrated helps their case.

its been a good game, a little quiet in places, but to all the newbies learning, one thing to take on board is that

Scum Hunting at times looks ropey, because scum hunters are ACTIVELY going after people to get results for the good of town. Sometimes they are wrong, sometimes they come across as aggressive, sometimes they come across as desperate and other times plain crazy, but just remember if they are hunting/voting/challenging owt out of the norm then they are usually Town on the hunt for scum.

Don't be afraid of dropping the hammer, fuck the bullshit of 'intent' I'm the Town sacrifice this day phase and I doubt I can stop it.

I'm actually read through all of day 1 and each different person to make my judgements. They may not be right but I did analyze. Who else ISO analyzed everyone? I'm hunting best I can. Anyone else hunting or just commenting on my lack of great hunting? An experienced wolf does do that but it's often a bored experienced wolf even if they do it. I was interested to see who countered skelda on my villager claim because it looks more village than most in this game.

Eff this. It's day 2, it's been 100 years with very little posting and about 300 changes of names. I'm sorry my reads aren't up to snuff with you but for some reason I thought this was a newb game. I felt it was more important to try to be active and learn something (albeit with possible low quality activity like you helpfully pointed out) than no activity. I admitted my thoughts on voting for you and admitted my omgus vote. But there is more to it and I think targeting me is scummy with my soft claim. Which you helpfully pointed out and dessew tried to get me to shut up about.

And don't forget that if everyone was posting one liners maybe we wouldn't have replacements and people would at least have to interact and have stuff to look at later. Mafia leaks info by accident even in posts that aren't up to your posting quality checks.

I posted my reasons for voting rach - which were that all her posts were about WHY she wasn't posting. She posted a slight vote analysis after that but that's about all she's even posted about the game at all. Even when asked for thoughts from dessew and I she still posted about her wifi on her trip.

Do you think I didn't notice that raptor joined in on my comment? Thank you for acting like that was only your special discovery. I can hardly remember who he used to be so I just filed it away to remember later.

Just a few things.

Stating that my vote on you was omgus was informing people that I might be partially bias on the vote. It's good information and it actually is helpful. I did realize that was possibly not a perfect vote but it's what my gut was saying. So you want explanations but then you really don't if they don't fit what you think is a good explanation?

Also people shouldn't be posting because we need to keep the thread down so people read? Your huge posts don't seem to be getting much traction maybe you should try something else since your whole goal is purportedly to get people involved.

And yes, it does matter if people can keep up with your walls of text. Your last post was much easier to read on a mobile phone because it was broken up by quotes. If you are really that interested in getting people involved you would care how readable your posts are.

And if you are "just as newb" as me then stop lecturing. It's ridiculous. And acting like bullying is good form if it gets people posting is all fun and games until people stop posting because they don't want to deal with the bullying. You could be frustrated town but you could also be mafia bully. And by being a jerk you are much more likely to get votes for being a jerk.

On the sidenote, I'm a little uncertain in my townread on the TSO/Jason/Raptor slot after having seen two such cases (Jason's on Taco and Raptor's on TC.)

This drives me bonkers because I was uncertain on TSO just for trying to get claims to disprove taco. I guess we could have false claimed to protect him? I dunno just seemed weird.

Twilight is obviously town. He voted for phok, who was mafia. Unless, of course, they agreed for twilight to vote for him, and look innocent, and get us all killed and the world will end.

I think the latter is very unlikely, considering that this is a newbie, and proffesionals only do the latter.

Anyway, I don't know who to vote for? Maurice was the best at figuring out stuff, and Mafia didn't kill him, but rather, Dessew. I'm suspecting Maurice, because being the main smart guy, and then not getting killed after uncoding who is innocent makes me... feel suspicous of Maurice. Not enough to vote, just a weird gut feeling.

I have to keep checking the first post to see who is who. Overall I think all the people gamer raptor has played have been more questionable to me. All of them pinged me for different things. And GR really isn't making great points.

Skelda, on the other hand, is trying to walk the line (trying to say no one looks suspicious so they don't turn on him) and seems to have been caught by his "GR blindly kill myself and rach and lose" which includes the only possible mafia doesn't make any sense.

Rach has seemed off to me the whole game but maybe she's just been busy.

Overall I think skelda is a better lynch.

Rach, the only thing I'd worry is that if I live and we are wrong about GR, I could lose the game for us tomorrow, so I honestly think I might be the best lynch unless this suspicion of me stops.

So if you are addressing rach as someone who is part of "us" and you think GR could be a mislynch who do you think the other mafia might be?

I'm around, keeping up with the thread. Just feeling GR or skelda. Which is strange because I would have voted TC and Rach out twice if I could have early on.
