I watched The Giggle last night and it was fine. I liked it better than The Star Beast but less than Wild Blue Yonder. I think in general the pacing for all of the specials felt a bit... overstuffed? Which maybe is just a consequence of there only being 3 specials that are also wildly ambitious. Overall, it's been a bit campier than I like my Who, but a lot of the character work has been spot on. NPH as the Toymaker was great. I have mixed feelings about the ending in general. I worry that the conceit of the ending overshadows Ncuti Gatwa in some ways and also plays into the series' long running flaw of not really being able to let characters go - but the character work and ideas behind it are technically fine I suppose. Maybe, I'm just older and grumpier now than when I first started watching Doctor Who - or maybe my tastes have changed. I did really like Wild Blue Yonder though.
i see the groups -> my eye is immediately drawn to dann as someone who like stands out as someone i want to focus on and sort in our group -> i think dann would probably want to avoid this singular focus bc he is dann the deepwolf -> dann probably doesn't make that choice as scum
i feel like you want me to use this thought process on you

i think being scum in the small hood is much harder than being scum in the large hood
it maybe "doesn't matter" but you kinda have to be confident that you can setup good associations with your partner and be comfortable with very real possibility that most people will find you as scum before the end of the game
imo i genuinely don't think that's a very comfortable space for scum!ydrasse to voluntarily operate within
I can see elements or aristeia being fine with that depending on their team

maybe ydrasse would take the fall if her partner had super strong conviction about being in the big hood but i don't immediately see anyone who i think would have that conviction looking at the playerlist

i rolled scum with elements in treestump express
i don't have any insights from that really
ig we both agreed that i would play the second phase of that game and i don't have any reason to believe elements wouldn't feel comfortable in the small hood based off that game

but all of your posts have this kind of "oh im just joking around playing fast and loose hehe look at me" type vibe that feels... like you're taking it a little too far?

I think if I am scum and I am presented with a dead game state I tend to view that as an opportunity to take control of the game and/or get town cred. Not taking action usually just hands the initiative off to a townie who is willing to do it instead.
Why didn't you do something to move the game forward?

it's not the reach out i have a problem with. there's specific ways that stuff is phrased within the post that feels a little over wrought from Ari and is reminiscent of posts i am drawn to make as scum because i know they will make me look good
like idk that town Ari actually feels like she needs to say "im sorry if this feels overwhelming"
like in general i just think the post is a bit over wrought and it could've been a couple paragraphs shorter and to the point and would've gotten the same amount across and the rest of it is for optics
and that is how i personally imagine town!ari would have written such a post
i might be wrong im not an Ari expert but that's what I'm feeling right now
I also believe that Elements doesn't put himself in a hood with Ari/ydra and I town read Ydrasse

so i wasn’t around yesterday because im hosting my sister from out of town, ill have similarly limited access until monday morning, but ill try to check in once a day
re: the meuh debacle
I don’t really see anything that precludes an Ari/Meuh team being possible but my read is softening on Meuh due to a combination of her reactions to Black and the fact that it doesn’t super seem like she’s playing to get town read
I mean she’s still kinda null reading the entire small hood and isn’t big on the definite stances in general and i think whoever put themselves in the big hood is gonna be playing pretty hard to deepwolf

ari, idk, feels like she’s scumreading me because she wants to or needs to take that position
the me being scum because i wasnt around is very contrived and the comparison to our last game does as well. like, i dont think ari’s experience with me makes it more likely for her to develop this read on me, but she’s bringing it up because it makes the read seem more real

A) i think you are just the type of person who reflexively pushes people who push you as town. I think you know this and would try to replicate this as scum. But, i just don’t believe your scum read on me. It seems fabricated and very weak coming from you and I don’t expect you to have weak reads.
B) it’s possible you might see me as a threat in my current read trajectories and wanna get rid of me

I think your reasoning for dann!scum because I didn’t sort meuh more is like better and more believable, but most of that stuff has been post hoc. Your original focal point for saying im 76% scum was that i was not around to engage with meuh being at e-1. To me that just seems like you wanted me to be scum and were looking for reasons as to why that was the case, not the basis for a scum read.
And now like the elements thing seems so surface level
why am i asking questions of people ive already expressed reads on? Really? have i ever struck you as a person with a ton of conviction?
even if i had been around when meuh was being run up, i probably would have unvoted because i dont actually believe my page 15 solve is enormously likely to be accurate more than average

(1) I don't do this as town, I pretty much only push back if I need to sort the player or I think it's likely the person pushing me is mafia. I can pretty easily show games where I just ignore pushes on me as town.
(2) I didn't replicate anything as scum, you are trying to claim the impetus of me pushing you is you pushing me, which is simply not true. My initial reaction to you pushing me was to say I thought you would pretty much never push me with "ari is too nice so she's scum" because its just like kind of ? to say about someone, the implication being that when I'm town I'm mean or whatever.
