The utopian town of Eville has recently noticed a violent outburst of gang and random bad-guy activity. They are trying to take over the town and overthrow the great rulers! Well the good guys wont have that now will they!? Bravely, the rulers and their council gather in their meeting hall and discuss what exactly to do...

After the meeting, which was less than productive, the council discovers a dead body of one of the lowly, yet kind-hearted peasants in the hallway. On his body, they discover a letter that was to be submitted to the council. On it was supposed to be a list of names of traitors... However, they had been cut out. The letter specifically stated that the names were of those on the council who had betrayed the town.

The council rushed quickly into the meeting room to discuss amongst themselves who were traitors, and who were the good guys. It is your job, council of Eville, to discover who among you have betrayed the city... Good luck...

Twilight fell on City Hall. The council members had come to an agreement. They alerted the guards. Chained and gagged, Rage was dragged out to the gallows to be hanged. He managed to spit out his gag and yelled repeatedly of his innocence.

As he was led up the gallows steps, Rage made one last cry, "You who have destroyed me are certainly going to be destroyed from within." Forbiddanlight yelled back, "That was corny, man!" Rage replied, "I know." And with that he was hanged. In his pocket, the remaining council members found an official badge belonging to a real council member. SC.. you've gone from attacking FL pretty hard at the start of D2 to jumping on alvinz so eagerly you forgot to vote for him and went straight to confirming your vote on him. As far as I could gather, your problem with him is that he has tunnel vision on *you*... which is valid. But, I must say that your play was pretty suspicious from the start and he did focus on you from early on in D1. Your play was dismissed by most (myself included) based on your meta which isn't a full proof argument to begin with. Also your self-destruction gambit idea is awful. Haven't we seen enough of it already? First Rage, then FL, now you.. Really? If you're a townie, you'd be doing scum a favor. And if you're scum and you actually go through with it, then you'd be doing the town a favor. Either way, it goes against your alignment. I am also of the opinion that some interactions between you and FL have been very friendly... too friendly, which only lends alvinz's suspicions more credit.

As for alvinz's "you know" comment.. it

be an emphasis on his confidence. Just like *I know* that lynching FL is the best play today. Not having a back-up plan isn't a valid argument either. Each new alignment revelation likely destroys more "card houses" than it strengthens. And, FL, I was going to call you out on hypocrisy but you did that all on your own. But..

It's completely trashing all the advantage we had from the doctor save. Is there ANY pro town reason for you to lynch yourself if you know you are town? And saying teaching alvinz tunnel vision fails isn't an answer since that's just being selfish in a way. You "HAVE" to be right. OK, now what? Something has to be wrong with the vote here too—it also still has me as voting alvinz95 when I switched seven posts before that. If that's the only thing wrong, then forbiddanlight should have been lynched.

I'm completely and utterly confused as to what the count should be.

That's a good catch, SC. However, before your vote, Goat moved his to sthar8 as I initially said but apparently the mod missed it, so your vote put FL back to L-1. Goat's switch is here and here.

Someone should check the vote count since the mod keeps missing votes.

I found out what I did. SC voted forbiddan and I mistook it as he was voting for alvinz. Goat voted for sthar8 but i totally blew that one and accidentally said he voted for forbiddan. There would have been no lynch in any case, but it was a big error on my part. Sorry about that. Feel free to check my counts when I post them as I do make mistakes.

Out of curiosity, why the policy change? An earlier vote count has forbiddan's vote on herself counted.

If no consensus can be reached on a target I deem scummier by deadline, I am willing to vote Forbiddan, because her lynch is vastly > than no lynch.

After some confusion, the council realized that Forbiddanlight had been shot squarely in the forehead. Post 1067 was referring to today. If we lynch a townie and I don't protect correctly overnight, we lose as tomorrow it will be 3 town vs 3 scum which is an automatic scum win.

I figured out where I messed up in my logic. 3 on 3 is still LYLO (according to this:

there are 3 scum, and 3 town (even if there is a doctor), you would still be in LyLo because if you lynch incorrectly, the scum automatically win... No matter what.

) but it doesn't matter because the three scum just have to not vote for each other to win.

This was a hypothetical situation. Most games are in lylo where there is one more town than there is scum. Rarely do the mods allow there to be the same amount of town and scum and let the game still run. I want to make it clear: if this game were to end up with equal town/scum, the game would end.

Now I know that the setup may be in some people's eyes one that gave the mafia the advantage, but sthar8 and Skillit had no idea that Electra was on their side until they tried to kill cerebus3, at which point he was not killed due to the fact that he was the Traitor. In other words, the Traitor was not part of the nightkilling decisions, but only attempted to help the scum while remaining "townie" in their and everyone else's eyes. Now start the discussion!

Yeah, I'm sorry now that I announced that it was LyLo. It was a mistake on my part, but once I said it, i couldn't really take it back. However, I don't believe that it gave scum a huge advantage. Town had no idea how many scum there were at that point. You finally found out via the LyLo (or should have), and that should have helped the town tremendously.

I think the town was just awful, and there were many times where the game could have been turned in the town's favor... Unfortunately, (or fortunately for the scum) we had some really good scum in here by the endgame.

Congratulations and great job to the scum, all of you did exceptionally well at your job.

Yeah, i figured all that stuff out during the course of the game I guess FL . Anyway, if you hadn't mass-claimed, I have a feeling the town could have won the game. Ah well, gl to all of you, I will close the thread in on Friday, so if you have any more comments, leave them before them. Hope to play with some of you in my other games, thanks for being part of my first modding experience!

Dean, I think you did a fairly good job with modding. A couple of suggestions I have are: I wouldn't express that it's Lylo (as others have mentioned). I would also try to remain consistent with rulings through the entire game. For example, stuff like town self votes, or whether or not deadline results in a lynch or no lynch, etc. If you've decided one way, make sure to keep it that way. Other than that, I think you did good. You were quick with vote counts and prods and answering questions, which is ultimately a hugely important aspect of modding.

I like your self-vote rule, but you should probably put that in your initial ruleset. Also, the LYLO thing gave the town (and scum) too much info.

I'm really glad I was able to predict what you would do in the case that someone was RB'd, because I realized while formulating my claim that I could only plausibly claim one investigation, and investigating the person who died would have been scummier. I was also worried for a while that I might get caught out by flavor, since I never saw my original PM, but you handled that well also.

I really liked the setup. It was clever and surprising.

Thanks much for the comments and compliments. I had hoped the setup would suprise people, as I have never seen a Traitor in any game so far. I was anticipating the reveal of that role the entire game to be honest .

At Lylo, you should have seen that the roleclaim was not necessary, as the scum would lie and claim town anyway, along with you outing your power role (even though they new it was you). Maybe this wasn't a game breaking decision, but it sure helped the scum by sthar8 claiming cop. Also, the town should have been more active. If you had, the game wouldn't have had a deadline on the last day. There were many mistake made by the town that shouldn't have been made, put it that way, and they could have been avoided if all of you had thought it out clearly.
