possibly. but now scum have to deal with whether or not they want to believe me. i also didn't feel like dredging though anything resembling rvs this game so i decided to fast forward. as lld so eloquently put it, it might not have been the optimal play, but whatever.

It's not optimal, doesn't progress the game state, and gives scum a chance to create meaningless empty content in the form of asking you questions about your role and/or questioning why you chose to claim.

The assumption that "all players get defensive if they're under attack since whenever" is wrong because town players have different motivations that scum players. Town play certainly involves a little bit of survivalism, but not nearly to the level being displayed here, and further than that, town play generally involves a lot less caring about what people think your alignment is. It's the fine line between how the different alignments prevent themselves from being lynched.

So, I question why someone spent most of their game defending themselves and reacting poorly to pressure being placed on them, when they could have been attempting to improve the town's chances of victory by generating his own content and reads.

To this point, nothing !Varsoon has done has been productive in that sense.

Also, let's move onto my vote on Xtom. Primarily, my vote was because the post that immediately proceeded it gave me bad vibes and I wanted to put some pressure there.

Second, what kind of failed logic are you running that assumes only scum would believe a bad player is town? Just because someone does moronic things does not instantly make them scum. Intent, not action, is what matters in the end. It's why Quilford is probably still town, despite the fact his IQ just took a nose dive after this post. See? Bad action, decently town intent behind it.

Thirdly, how exactly is my reasoning vague? Yeah, maybe I don't have the time, effort or capability to make 20 paragraph posts with fucking quote strips(rip Genesis Mafia) but my points are pretty clear and articulated. Quilford

- The force replace and PC's reaction to it is enough for me to believe this slot is town.

I_Am_Not_Varsoon

- He felt town to me throughout, and his fading townread on me is consistent with a townie losing faith in an underwhelming player which is what I have been more recently; it is across the board and is a RL tell, unfortunately. He was also likely an early scum target.

catboi

- Mainly due Spiffeh that he's in the strong town read category, but his own play has been pretty solid too.

Dwlee99

- Play surrounding the PC wagon looked town, among other things.

Scorpious

- Felt town early on particularly with what he said about LLD, nothing since made me question the read (certainly not the drop off in activity that catboi suggests is scummy).

Yimmy

- This is more gut than anything, feels genuine, responses to pressure have not struck me as scum.

popsofctown

- So I was scumreading him early on and I think i've flipped on it, not completely attached to this new read but I think he may have towntelled. When I speculated on Vinkah scumslipping his reaction was very town, he thought about it in the same way that I did, and if he was scum it would have been very easy for him to attack me for 'weak reasoning', but that was not the path he took.

Vinkah

- Play doesn't scream town to me, claim is pretty oddball and basically the only reason i'm townreading him..I may or may not be onto something with the 'scumslip', but it's not overwhelmingly convincing, and not something I plan to deathtunnel someone over. Could do with expanding on the claim, which I don't understand the mechanics of and was never really explained in any detail, but i'm not in a rush to make that happen.

- Chamber and UT have failed to make any much of an impression at all on me which is a scumtell in itself; I expect at least one of these two are scum. Mild gut puts Chamber a shade more on the town side.

Untrod Tripod

- As above.

Shinobi

- Initially was townreading, then it faded, and more recently didn't like his reads list where all he really does is call a bunch of people town, and only attacks the two most passive and absent players in the game, looks like scum playing safe and avoiding conflict. Reminds me of a game I played as scum recently.

This is a very telling vote count.

As you can see, the Cobalt wagon took off when the !Varsoon wagon was stopped.

By the way, we should really go look at the biggest voices of dismissal of that wagon. Chamber obviously made an error, but scum fought hard to avoid a day 1 lynch.
