Before I answer that question, why is suddently everyone so interested in what I do and what I like/dislike? I don't mind making my thought process transparent because I expect that from others to a degree, but I feel like if I reveal literally everything about the way I play then that would blur any genuine reactions I might elicit from people later on because they would know what to expect and what I'm looking for.

Okay, now to answer you: because RVS is random and jocular, and it's super easy to find an excuse for doing something during that stage. This is why I always try to end it fast and start placing serious votes. The longer RVS goes on the more difficult it is for me to get early reads.

I have a friend who doesn't like to do RVS, and he instead does more novel openings, like RQS or a buddy system.
So why do things you don't like when there are other options?

Since this became a thing, I just want to clarify what I meant by credit. Klingon has been scumreading Fountain since page 1, for absolutely terrible reasons, but she's 100% sure she's nailed the scum team. I was saying that even if Fountain/Ted turned out to be scum, Klingon shouldn't credit herself with amazing scumhunting, since she couldn't have known for sure that early and for that reason. It would just be pure luck.

Basically I was just trying to avoid letting her boost her own ego for that lynch if it turned out to be correct.

When it takes 7 to lynch, I wouldn't 100% blame a mislynch on one single person.

Spade had already explained it long back, Gamma.

The apparent change in my posts was only because I was not sure whether Spade (and Bang) would be okay in me divulging any information regarding knowing them. They are new to the forum, so I left it to their discretion whether they want to divulge that info. Once Spade introduced himself, it was clear that he is fine with it.

About the change in my posts pre- and post Spade's disclosure: I did not change my version. What I did was I didn't tell the complete truth about knowing him from before. Moreover, knowing him doesn't mean that I was keeping frequent tabs on his activity on the site. I did it twice - once when I saw his profile in the Central park signups thread, and then the next time after receiving Rando's message about gamestart. I clicked on everyone's profiles, and that's when I realised he is still without an avatar. Once the game started, there was no way of telling him without violating game rules, so I messaged him in the game thread. I am surprised you think that scum!me will slip in such an amateurish matter. Even if he was scum and I was his partner and I had to urgently contact him, why will I talk to him about a non-issue like having an avatar? It's the most ridiculous theory anyone could come up with. Last game it was saying 'RVS' and now this.

That fixes things. Spade is leantown now.

The theory (Gamma's theory) is that outing softclaims helps town because scum are actively hunting for them and have likely seen them already.

I actually kind of agree with it, but I wanted to remind Gamma of his own standard of townplay and maybe nudge him to reread carefully.

I wrote that because someone had posted a soft in bold and a townie didn't state that and the PR got lynched.
